Eliminating Adsense in Some WP Posts

I have a self hosted WP blog with 400+ posts. Originally I used a WP plugin to display Adsense in posts, then I read that some of these plugins are programmed to cream off a certain percentage of click earnings.

Several months ago, I replaced this plugin by hard-programming Adsense to appear at the top of every blog post and I have been delighted to find that since this change, my Adsense earnings have noticably increased.

But - there are occasions when I would prefer that a post doesn't display Adsense - is there any way this could be achieved? I don't fancy removing the programming and inserting it manually into hundreds of past posts.

I would appreciate any suggestions

  • I use the Whydowork Adsense plugin, they don't cream off a percentage, so that's a good thing, plus you can put in the ID of the posts and pages you don't want it to appear on.

  • Your welcome. Also, don't let the name fool you, you can put in any kind of affiliate code to show on your site. It doesn't have to be Adsense.

    • I was reading the tutorial blog for the plugin, and someone is asking how they can set the plugin to show in more than 10 posts. Are they misunderstanding how the plugin works, or does it only insert Adsense/advertising in no more than 10 posts?
  • No, there is place for 10 different codes, but that doesn't mean you can only show it on 10 posts. So for example, you can put in 10 different codes and then decide where you want to put them, for example, code 1 in the posts at the top, code 2 in the posts at the bottom, code 3 on the homepage, ...
