Is it Possible? (split submission based on zip)

Say I was generating leads nationally for a CPA offer, and I wanted most of the leads to automatically go to the CPA offer I was promoting, but I also wanted the leads from three states near me to remain with me?

Is this possible?

I'm no programmer, but was thinking there might be a way to do it with the Echo command and excluding some zip's perhaps?

  • Do you mean that links within your domain shouldn't open new windows but offsite links should? Or links to certain domains should open a new window but links to some domains shouldn't open new windows?
  • Sorry if I wasn't clear. Let me try to explain. If somebody fills out a form for a CPA offer, I want to forward those leads on, however, if the lead comes from Oregon, Washington, or Idaho, I can't because I previously signed a non-compete and NDA.

    I need to keep leads from OR, WA, and ID to myself, or forward to the folks I signed the non-compete with. I can basically do anything with them other then send them to the national (US) CPA offer.

    I'm just wondering if there's a way to separate the forwarding of the user's information based on their location. If outside of Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, then OK to send to my CPA offer. If in those three states, then not.

    I can see a couple of different solutions perhaps, but don't know from a programming standpoint what makes the most sense.

    Also, if they do come from either of those three states, I can still monetize them, just not through the CPA offer I'd normally use for other locations so collecting the data and keeping it to myself would be ideal.

    • It is possible to show different content to visitors depending on where they have come from using maxmind.com products. I have used this code:

      ukproducts4u.co.uk/test/forums/maxmind.html

      to show content to UK visitors only (view source). The GB part can be altered to any other country to suit. Probably you could alter the above and include states as the database that the above code uses does include them. Using the above you could show different content depending on where they have come from. Pretty technical and complicated stuff though.

      Sounds to me the easiest way for you would be to include another drop down selection box in your form with a list of states. Should they choose a particular state then you could alter the rest of the options to suit. Again not that easy to do.

  • If you have control of the information the visitor submits ( in other words, YOUR site processes the form that the user enters their info on), there's really no problem.

    Are you using some sort of redirecting software like Prosper or the like?

      So far the site doesn't exist, but I wish to have one built that has the functionality described in my prior post.

      I'm just not sure what the best way to go about it is, and yes, I'll have complete control over the information the visitor submits.
