Fatal Error installing wordpress plugin

Hi All:
Hoping someone can help:
I was trying to install a plugin wptap-mobile detector and I got the following error. Now I cannot access the wordpress admin panel when i try to login
How can I solve the following problem

Fatal error: Call to undefined function plugin_dir_url() in /home/plaw193/public_html/sogomiconsulting.com/wp-content/plugins/wptap-mobile-detector/md-admin/function.php on line 7

  • No I have not tried. Should I try to remove it via ftp
  • Yes delete the /public_html/sogomiconsulting.com/wp-content/plugins/wptap-mobile-detector/ directory through FTP.

    Then you will be able to open the admin panel.

  • It seems some files in this plugin are missing. You need to delete the plugin through ftp and add it again. if it still doesn't work, contact plugin support
