Fatal Error installing wordpress plugin

Hi All:
Hoping someone can help:
I was trying to install a plugin wptap-mobile detector and I got the following error. Now I cannot access the wordpress admin panel when i try to login
How can I solve the following problem

Fatal error: Call to undefined function plugin_dir_url() in /home/plaw193/public_html/sogomiconsulting.com/wp-content/plugins/wptap-mobile-detector/md-admin/function.php on line 7

Have you tried to remove the wptap-mobile detector plugin directory?

No I have not tried. Should I try to remove it via ftp

Yes delete the /public_html/sogomiconsulting.com/wp-content/plugins/wptap-mobile-detector/ directory through FTP.

Then you will be able to open the admin panel.

It seems some files in this plugin are missing. You need to delete the plugin through ftp and add it again. if it still doesn't work, contact plugin support
