Animated GIF support in Kindle?

Does anyone know whether the Amazon Kindle supports the display of animated GIFs on their device?

Any reference, or if this is not supported, viable alternatives to showing animation on a kindle page (is it even possible???)

    i guess the author means that animated gifs are not supported.... but I have no personal experience, so this might be wrong.....

    • Not directly it doesnt, but you can get the image converted by sending it to your kindle email address.

      Formats that can be converted are: JPEG, GIF, PNG and BMP.

  • So if you get a gif sent to your email and read the email you are able to see it?

    • If its the kindle email I believe so.. It will be converted to a format the kindle can view.
