Copy & Paste

For the last 4-5 weeks, the copy and paste facility has been switching itself off from time to time - say 3 times in a 12 hr day.

I use W7 64 bit, Chrome and AVG.

Does anyone know why or how I can recover from it without rebooting?

    When you mention Copy/Paste issues are you talking about being able to copy and paste text, audio, video, etc?

    Sometimes certain websites will not allow a copy and paste feature with certain browsers. For example Firefox on my website doesn't allow me to copy and paste; thus I have to use Internet Explorer.

    Certain sites have issues with the standard copy/paste feature but if you hit "CTRL and the letter V" at the same time it will work.

    Hope you get the issue fixed. If not you can post on the computer sites such as CNET Computer Forum for help with any questions about software/hardware/operating systems.

  • My work machine is running win 7 64 and had this problem quite a few times. It was always when I was using some high resource programs.

    I was able to increase my paging file size and it stopped. For some reason my virtual memoy page file size was set real low.

    This solved it for me but im not sure if this would relate to you.

      The paging file was 'system managed' and set to 2,005, but recommended was '3005'.
      (Or something like that).
      The system was managing it, but set it to 66% of recommended size.
      Brilliant, eh?
      I reset it to 3,500 min and 4,000 max.
      Does that sound about right?

      Anyway, I think that you were right, because I often have three or four hungry apps open at the same time.

  • I set mine to 22 gigs or so, but thats because I had an old hardrive just sitting in the machine.

    That amount I would think should be good.
    Good luck copy and paste not working is terrible.

    Also market samauri was one of the programs that would be running when this problem kept happining.

      OK, if it continues to cut out I can afford that much too.
      It is so annoying when it cuts out.
      Closing 3-4 apps, stalling Chrome so that it remembers all the sites you had open, etc, etc.
      Anyway, I think that this will work, once I get the paging file size right.

  • Hi I know your problem generally its not your computer fault, Their are some website Scripts which do not allow you to copy and paste any file. You usually you try by Right Option Click Copy. some Site disable the right option click. which means you can not use Right mouse button.

      I don't normally need to copy from a website.
      I'll have to get a few nore examples.

      But I don't think I need a tutorial on copy and paste after 29 years of using a computer keyboard.
