How do I convert VOB files to FLV?

I have a DVD containing VOB files and need to convert them to a web friendly format. I'm thinking to convert them to the .flv format then use flowplayer to place the video on a web page...correct?

How do I convert the DVD files to .flv?

  • There are a couple of ways to do this.

    Assuming that you own the DVD and are not violating any copyright laws, you can download Slysoft's clonedvd or better yet the clonedvd mobile version. I forget how much it cost, I think around 70 bucks for their entire suite, but it may be like 10 bucks for one program.

    I use their suite when I purchase new dvd's for the kiddos. I was tired of buying a movie and 2 days later it being scratched all to heck. Now we stream everything wirelessly through their xbox's and our server.

      I downloaded the free trial software Pavtube and was able to convert VOB to .FLV then play it on the web with Flowplayer. Unfortunately it displays the pavtube logo on the video..I guess because of the free trial.

      One problem is if I enlarge the pixel size to 640x480 the file size bcomes so large it doesn't play (ie load fast).

  • The iWisoft free video converter for Windows can do the conversion, and it won't watermark the videos. It's a really great product that I use a lot - converts almost anything to anything!

      I'm going back to pavtube.
