Java is a cool language, since it's got great features like garbage collection, etc., but depending on what you are writing, the JVM can be slow IMHO.

      Max,

Actually Java can be quite bloated. It actually stores GARBAGE.

But don't get me wrong, It's an extremely powerful language. The
job market for it right now is crazy. If I were to pick one language
to learn for commercial purposes, Java would be on the top of the
      list.

JAVA is an object oriented programming language and it was intended to serve as a new way to manage software complexity. In abounding cases, a Java basic apparatus can anticipate an afield accounting appliance affairs from causing problems to the rest of your computing environment.

Java is a programming language originally developed by James Gosling at Sun Micro systems. It is widely used because of its platform in dependency and this feature keeps it above all the programming language.

Java is decent however, php is way more flexible. Then again, it depends on what your project is about.

Interesting thread, I always had hope that JAVA would be a more flexible environment, I started developing a custom javascript executable, plugin, a couple of years ago but ran into some long term cross browser issues.

It would be interesting to see some innovation in this area, perhaps that will happen eventually but so far, Java, is sort of like using a forklift when a backhoe would be better.
