Adding a meta tag

I am new to IM. I want to use google webmaster tools. I have built a couple websites in the past and I was able to add a meta tag to get verified by google. I just started a blog with wordpress 2.7 and cannot figure out how to add a meta so I can get verified.

How and where can I do this?

Its actually easier to use Google's second option of uploading a file. I think they give you a random name of a file to create and upload. Go back to the verification screen and you should see the instructions.

I agree with above. The second option is easier.
Just go to your file manager in your hosting and create a new page and title it whatever the number google gives you to verify. You dont have to create the page or anything. This is how I do it. Fast and simple.
