Need Help Installing WP Theme/Plugin Combo

Hello,

I purchased a WSO for a local business lead generation site and am having problems getting updated versions to install. I'm seeking help with getting the install to work.

I don't want to give the name here in case it will violate WF TOS.

It is a wordpress theme that comes as a theme & plugin combo. It has a nice looking, but rather fixed layout, however the activation system seems to be having problems on my installs.

I bought the WSO with multiple site rights, and recently jumped on the wagon and bought the early bird rights to a "developer" license.

My first installation (Version 1.2.3) of the software installed easily, and continues to work smoothly, although it is not Wordpress Multi-Site compatible. (This was the developers choice. I beleive he said multisite was insecure. He was very much against multisite.)

However, I cannot get any additional sites to install.

I have tried all three versions that I have downloaded. Version 1.2.3, 1.2.8 and 1.3.1 of his software. Either my license key is not being accepted, or the software is not working. I'm not sure which. I think the software is probably pretty stable, or else there would easily be some flap in here since it was a pretty big WSO earlier this year.

Can anyone help me figure out what is going on? I am in a pretty big rush trying to get a site ready, and trying to avoid changing "looks" at this point in time.

Thanks in advance,
Kirk Ward

Hmm wouldn't this really be up to the WSO owner to help you with? I know I would.
Is the code in the theme/plugin encoded as in looks like complete jibberish?
If it is then its hard for anyone but the developer to help you.

The WSO owner has replied to my support request, but is also having trouble getting it to work. He has implied that installing on anything other than a cpanel installation is non-standard and it may not install. That is a bit limiting, but as I said, I am not a coder. The plugin is unencoded but I am not a coder beyond copy and paste, so I am helpless there.

While I was typing this, I received and email from the WSO owner helpdesk. Seems he can't take the time to make it work if it's not hosted on a cpanel site.. He did offer to refund the latest upgrade I purchased, let me put it on a cpanel server, or host it on his server. Sort of a bummer.

I am able to clone the ver. 1.2.3 on the same server, and will try on another server today and see what happens. Maybe I can live with that level if all else

what are you actually "installing"... isn't it just a wordpress theme? should be able to upload the theme and plugin right in the respective folders? a bit confused.

Calling cPanel standard is a cop out. There is nothing special about cPanel.

It is a theme and plugin combination ... they have to work together.

That being said, he was able to upgrade the older version I cloned onto the site. So all is now at peace with the world ... for a short while.
