Help! I cannot log into my shopping cart admin with my usual credentials!

Hello,

I have recently been trying to log into my shopping cart admin panel for my ecommerce site with my usual log-in credentials after leaving it alone for awhile, but I have been denied access! I never had problems before so this is really perplexing! What's even more upsetting is that I had someone set up this shopping cart software, called Nigma, for me about three years ago and I have tried to reach the programmer to no avail! My emails have been ignored, their contact number has been disconnected, and their business website says it's down for construction.

Since I cannot reach the programer for assistance with this matter, is there a way I can get into the admin panel, even though I cannot log-in? For example, there is no link to retrieve or change passwords at the log-in page, so I am stumped! Help, as I need to log-in ASAP!

Sincerely,

DK

Do you still have the Email sent to you by the Host master? if so, you can check it first, then if this things don't work, try to Email him about your problem.

I think OP is asking for the Admin panel login details for his Shopping cart and not the hosting details.

@OP If you have cPanel login details for your hosting account, you may try changing/resetting the password for your shopping cart. If you don't find it easier, simply contact your host and they should be able to do this for you

        Hey there,

Thanks for all these early replies, guys, it's much appreciated! I previously contacted my host, Hostgator, to see if they could reset my Nigma shopping cart admin panel password on my behalf to no avail, they said they have tried everything but they cannot change the password for me.

Anyhow, the admin panel for my shopping cart is at Nigma Commerce Administration Panel, and as you can see there, there is no link where I can reset/change my password, so I am stuck! I just don't understand why I suddenly cannot log in when I had no problems beforehand! Help! What can I do now?

Are you self hosting Nigma or using their hosting service - your cart is available in both configurations?

If it is hosted by Nigma you could contact them or open a trouble ticket.

If you are self-hosting they still may be able to help you out.

      Hi Bill,

As I stated in my initial post, I bought the shopping cart software from Nigma and host the site at Hostgator...and I have tried contacting the Nigma programmer to no avail, it's like they don't exist anymore.

If you click on the link at the bottom of that admin panel @ www.finallythebasics.com, you'll know what I mean and the number listed at www.nigmacommerce.com has been disconnected.

      I have been left stranded!

The admin password is probably encrypted, meaning there is no way to retrieve it from the database in a readable format.

I'd have to look at the code but I am sure a back door could be programmed.
Session variables are probably set at admin login and it would be a matter of setting the correct session variable to allow you access so you could change your password. Then remove the back door from the code once this is done.

      Hi Ken,

Thanks for that through reply. In that case, how could this back door be created?

      Regards,

    Hi DK

If the shopping cart is written in php and mysql you can try to go into your myphpadmin panel to locate the password and userid.

If it is not encrypt you should be able to amend through there.

Once you are able to login I suggest you check with vendor of shopping cart software if there is a password retrieval system if not you may wish to employ a programmer to assist you to include a password retrieval system.
