How do I get videos to play only when clicked on play button?

I have a blog in which I'm using videos from Ehow. Problem is when someone visits my page the videos start playing automatically. Currently I have 2 videos on my blog and they both start playing so I've got 2 videos going at once. If I add a few more I'll have a real choir going!! I used the embed code, so I'm guessing it has something to do with that. How do I get the videos to play only when someone clicks on the videos? Thanks...

  • Add this to the embed tag:

    Code:
    play="false"

    • I appreciate the help very much. Exactly where in the code should I add it. I tried just sticking it in without knowing where, but it didn't work.
  • In the actual embed tag, example:

    Code:
    <OBJECT classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
    codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"
    WIDTH="335" HEIGHT="300">
      <PARAM NAME="movie" VALUE="TO_01_1.swf">
      <PARAM NAME="quality" VALUE="best"><param name="PLAY" value="false" />
      <EMBED src="TO_01_1.swf" WIDTH="330" HEIGHT="300" quality="best"  bgcolor=#CCCCCC
    TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash"
    PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" ></EMBED>
    </OBJECT>

    • Christian,

      Thanks for the help. It still isn't working. Here's the code I'm seeing which is different from yours:

      <embed id="mediaPlayerContainer" width="404" height="352" align="TL" flashvars="source=http%3A%2F%2Fcdn-viper.demandvideo.com%2Fmedia%2F7b38f7f8-5066-46d0-b360-1f32ab2cb2c7%2Fflash%2Fab82b3b2-be78-4033-a754-d4272b40df95.flv&sourcehd=http%3A%2F%2Fcdn-viper.demandvideo.com%2Fmedia%2F7b38f7f8-5066-46d0-b360-1f32ab2cb2c7%2FflashHD%2Fab82b3b2-be78-4033-a754-d4272b40df95.flv&demand_site_id=EHWC&demand_page_u rl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ehow.com%2Fvideo_7357053_essen tial-oil-recipe-warts.html&sitename=ehow.com&demand_content_source key=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ehow.com&skin=http%3A%2F%2Fcd n-i.dmdentertainment.com%2FDMVideoPlayer%2Fplayerski n.swf&embedvars=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ehow.com%2Fservic es%2Fvideo%2Fembedvars.html%3Fsource%3Dhttp%253A%2 52F%252Fcdn-viper.demandvideo.com%252Fmedia%252F7b38f7f8-5066-46d0-b360-1f32ab2cb2c7%252Fflash%252Fab82b3b2-be78-4033-a754-d4272b40df95.flv%26sourcehd%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fc dn-viper.demandvideo.com%252Fmedia%252F7b38f7f8-5066-46d0-b360-1f32ab2cb2c7%252FflashHD%252Fab82b3b2-be78-4033-a754-d4272b40df95.flv%26demand_related%3D0%26skin%3Dhtt p%253A%252F%252Fcdn-i.dmdentertainment.com%252FDMVideoPlayer%252Fplaye rskin.swf" scale="noscale" allowfullscreen="true" wmode="window" menu="false" loop="false" allowscriptaccess="always" quality="high" bgcolor="#000000" name="mediaPlayerContainer" style="" name="mediaPlayerContainer" src="http://cdn-i.dmdentertainment.com/DMVideoPlayer/player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" /><br /><a target="_blank" href="http://aromatherapy411.com/oregano-essential-oil-let-me-count-the-uses-2.html">Essential Oil Recipe for Warts</a> &mdash;powered by eHow.com

      I've tried adding it in several places, but must be missing the right spot. My last attempt was where you see the bold.
