  • You could do this with Microsoft tools like Sharepoint. Or you could do it with an auto-FTP program that autouploads the XLS files to the website on a set interval. I've used WS_FTP_Pro from Ipswitch to do this in the past. Then all you have to do is set up the website to post the sheets, and every so often they refresh (update) in the background. You can do it once a day or once an hour or whatever you want.

    Hope this helps!

  • For synchronization, you can use a SFTP setup from the local computer, where it will sync the local directory contents (from your home PC) to the server, every x hour/minutes/seconds.

I think the best thing that can solve the purpose is Google Chart APIs (Google Chart Tools - Google Code). It can create a chart's code for you. With some programming, you can fetch the data using a Google spreadsheet. This way, you can update the Google spreadsheet whenever you are making the changes, and it will automatically reflect on the chart. So you don't have to worry about synchronization of the excel file everytime.

  • Yes Google Chart is really easy to use, even for non-coders

I'm building a website for a family member, I okay with design and marketing; however, he wants to be able to update info on his computer and automatically have the information change a chart on his website. I don't see how it can be done, but then again I'm not a programmer. This is probably a shining example of why one should not work for family members. I'm using Wordpress to build the site. This is what he asked to have done:
