Hey Warriors,

How do I set up self-managed a cloud server just for emailing (smtp?) only? I have no clue about this and couldn't find any tutorials yet. Thanks for your support.

  • Hey Marc,

I think your question is a bit confusing.

You want to set up a smtp mailing server that you manage yourself; yet you want it to be "in the cloud", which means that you'll use some cloud hosting service.

By that definition, you could use any hosting company that offers "cloud storage" / "cloud servers"; just order a regular server/hosting package with them (so you'll have a server "in the cloud"), and then use the smtp function they should have to send email.

Correct me if I got you wrong?

    Cheers,
    Rob
  • please check amazon ec2 you might be able to get a smtp server. seems like bulk mailing is your requirement
  • If bulk mailing is an issue, I'd stay away from Amazon... you'll probably be gone sooner than you like for breaking TOS.

    Cheers,
    Rob
  • Thanks folks. Problem already solved.
