  • Bruce Eckel publishes a lot of resources for free online. This interactive series will walk you through the basics of C:
    Thinking in C

    His books/materials on C++ and Java are extremely useful and provide a lot of C fundamentals, so those may be worth checking out too.

    • "The C Programming Language" by Kernighan and Ritchie is a great book.
      I would personally recommend "C The Complete Reference" by H. Schildt. This is a more detailed book and will help you to get started.

      For Mysql, I would recommend "For Dummies PHP and MySQL Web Development" by Janet Valade.

  • I find the best way are tutorials found online as well as learning by doing. Reading books and not trying out what you are reading is just wasted time.
