Assembly level programming

Do anyone has got experience in assembly level programming? I had gone through several project profiles in big technology companies and some of the core aspects are written in assembly language to have better efficiency and accuracy. How about you? Do you think it is very difficult? If any one knows anything about it, lets use this post to share our knowledge. I have got much to tell you guys if you are interested.

  • I did some assembly programming for the Motorola 68000 in school. I can't say I'd ever imagine using it for anything related to marketing though.
  • I agree with Micheal, I wouldn't use it for anything with Internet Marketing. You would need some serious performance to need/require assembly language.

    To answer your question yes I do occasionally write some things in assembly, but I find it pretty time consuming so I usually stick with C or C++ if I just need a little more performance. However, I for the most part just stick with scripting languages I find that they deliver plenty of performance for everything Internet Marketing related.
  • if its internet... nothing better than plain old php... well hypothetically speaking ofcoure, with prejudice according me experience....

    still to each is his own...

    im not condoning other scripting languages - its just that PHP has proven so much for me...

    lets talk about what you want to get done then maybe i can do a porting script so that you can start appreciating PHP as much as I do.

    • You must be a glutton for punishment! I used to do some assembly programming 20 years ago but it was mostly for embedded systems. Even then, it was only for small chunks of the projects. Most was written in C.

      I don't know why you would need to use assembly for IM products. If you're developing an app where performance is an issue, I would just stick with C.
