You are trying to say: Mbps and MBps.

The first one is Megabit Per Seconds (Mbps), this is the measure of a network bandwidth. We use it when we are talking about bandwidth of a network, for example:

When your Internet Service Provider (Who provide you internet access, always is a telecommunication company), tell your internet speed their are talking about network bandwidth... Which are for example 128, 256, 300, 512, 600 Kbps. and also can be 1, 2 and so on Mbps.

The second one is Megabyte Per Seconds, this one is used for data transfer, for example:

When you download Firefox or Internet Explorer there is the data transfer unit KBps.

Okay, about your question, if your internet provider say, you have 6 MegaBits Per Seconds(Mbps), you must have 750 KiloByte per Seconds. But that number is theoretically in other words you always is going to lose some KBps, because the medium(cooper cable), where the data transfer, the cable isn't 100% conductor, because that you can have maybe 685 KBps.

Getting your network bandwidth

6 Mbps * 1024 Kbps
------------- = 6144 Kbps
1 Mbps

6 Mbps (Mega bit per Second)= 6144 Kbps(Kilo bit per Second)

6144 Kbps * 1 KBps
----------= 768 KBps(Data Transfer)
8 Kbps

The upper case "B" represent Byte.
The Lower case "b" represent bit.
