need some help with my php website

i used xampp to run localy and build my website that have only php extention files, however i purchaced a host at hostgator and domain at namecheap. after i uploaded my website using file manager it doesnt load in mywebsite.com what im i doing wrong? im very new to the cpanel. please help

  • It may not be a php issue. Did you point the domain name to the correct DNS server at namecheap?

    ns1.hostgator.com
    ns2.hostgator.com

    Also, they have some pretty good help forums at Hostgator, so you might have better luck there.

    On most web hosts, as long as you have an index.php file in the web root, it will load automatically.

  • best to contact hostgator to ask about this one.

    My first instinct is that you have uploaded your files to the FTP root which is usually above web root.

    If this is the case, look for a folder called /public_html/ or /httpdocs/ and try uploading into those to see if they come out on the website.
