I installed W3 total Cache and have been trying to get it to work, but I keep getting this error

I changed the permission from 755 to 777 and I have deleted the old cache plugin as well, but it still shows the error.
Is anybody familiar with w3 total cache? Whats the solution here? And whats the best settings to get the most out of it?...

Thank you all in advance.

  • It's always advisable to do a backup of the system before installing something new but assuming you failed to do that have you installed a copy of advanced-cache.php? What other caching may be being used including server side caching?
  • The most common issue with W3 Cache for wordpress is a lot of users don't install all of the files needed.

If you still need help with this, let me know and maybe I can walk you through the installation.
  • Uninstalling all previous plugins and re-installing w3 may solve your problem .. But i am not sure ..
  • Try uninstalling the plugin, then chmod 777 /public_html/wp-content then install w3-total-cache again. When it is activated, the wp-content folder back to 755. Hope it works.

I installed W3 total Cache and have been trying to get it to work, but I keep getting this error Page caching is not available: /home6/blogstas/public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php is not installed. Either the /home6/blogstas/public_html/wp-content directory is not write-able or another caching plugin installed. This error message will automatically disappear once the change is successfully made.
