way to discount paypal price if user tweets/shares?

Imagine a user is on your wordpress squeeze page ready to click the "Buy" button hooked up to paypal.

Right beside it you say "Tweet" or "Like" to get a 10% discount.
Just by tweeting or liking the price adjusts.

Is there something out there to do this? Plugin? Script?

any suggestions appreciated.

  • How proficient are you at coding? I found this javascript - Add discount code to paypal button on wordpress - WordPress - Stack Exchange is that something like you're looking for?

  • Earnie, that would actually work for what he is wanting. Another thing you could do is manual refunds for 10% of what ever the cost is after they tweet/ facebook about it.

    • that may work, I will look at it more closely. I am surprised with all the WSO's on here and everyone concerned about conversions that there is not a plugin that makes all this easy. Hec what a great viral tool if you "force" every buyer to tweet or like for a discount.
  • Hey,
I knew that I saw a few similar plugins to what you described.
So I searched a bit, and found those two:

  • Well I run a web hosting business and IT management company, on our facebook and twitter and so forth, if a customer posts on our wall something positive or retweets something of ours, we extend the offer for a discount on their hosting bill or total service bill. I know a lot of companies do this like Liquid web for instance.
  • You can use callback function to trigger the action of discounting the price once the user completes the desired activity (like or tweet). Both Twitter and Facebook support callback function.
  • I prefer Earnie's scripts ... Oh great one i like that ..
