Techy help required please

Hey guys

Ive recently had a problem with my laptop and basically i had the whole machine wiped and then had windows vista re-installed.

Ive just noticed that my touch pad is no longer replicating the middle button function that tradition mouses have. I regularly use a program that requires the use if a middle button and my touch pad was set up so that if i double click the lower left corner of the pad it would act as a middle button click.

Unfortunately since i got my laptop back this has stopped working,

If ayone knows how to replicate the use of the middle button click function lease help me asap.

Your help is really aprreciated as ever!!

Warm Regards

    Hey,

The driver for the mouse pad is already installed, im sure the middle click feature was something that i added to the machine after.

Basically i purchased some software that required middle button clicks so i had to plug a mouse in to use it, then further down the line someone showed me how to replicate a middle click using the touch pad which saved me having to use a plug in type mouse.

I just cant remember if it was a downloaded thing or a settings thing BUT i cant find anything in the settings for the touch pad or mouse regarding the middle click feature.

Obviously i can just go and buy a mouse and plug it in BUT i know that this machine used to have the middle click feature by double tapping the bottom left corner of the touch pad and since the re-install of windows its just gone??

    Thanks

It's probably an option in the mouse/touchpad properties accessible via the control panel.

Found it... this is how you do it... (My laptop uses the same thing since I gave up on the touchpad buttons)...

Open your Control Panel, and open the Mouse's properties.
You should see "Device Settings" in there... I have Synaptics Touchpad, so from here on, it depends on what Touchpad software you use.
On this window, go to Settings > Tapping > TapZones
Click on Bottom Left Action, and select Middle Click.
    Apply, and come out.

That should work. Let me know if it helps.
