Cloudflare or Quick Cache or Both for Wordpress Blog?

I don't really know if quick cache is needed on a word press blog running cloudflare free account? Anyone have any experience with either of the apps?

  • W3 Total Cache is a powerful plugin for Wordpress. Something you may wish to try. We haven't had much success with Cloudflare (lightboxes etc. didn't perform as expected), but that could be because we looked at it a while ago.

    • The reason the lightboxes probably didn't work would be due to a beta feature called Rocket Loader. Shouldn't be an issue if you have this optional feature turned off.
  • More than happy to answer any questions about CloudFlare. There isn't any conflict with caching plugins and CloudFlare, so you should feel comfortable using both (you *might* see caching plugin conflicts, however, if you install more than one caching plugin).
  • I'm aware of very few scenarios where using CloudFlare is _not_ beneficial. I always recommend using CloudFlare b/c they do so much for you. In addition, when using WordPress I also recommend using W3 Total Cache. If I remember correctly W3 Total Cache has specific integration for CloudFlare.

      Correct & it works great. The one recommendation I would make, however, is not to turn on both CloudFlare's Auto Minify and W3TC's minify options at the sametime (this can most certainly cause issues). You would really only want to choose one or the other for minifying.
  • I'm using Media Temple for hosting, Total Cache and CloudFlare and it's a great combination - especially as CloudFlare comes free with MT.
