Help me find a Coder that understands IM for my Custom Website!

I need a custom built website that can accept orders, after orders are paid for send an email to my workers to let them know!

And then put the order in a queue sorted by when the order was paid for (so the order the was made first is at the top and gets completed before they work on other projects).


Thats the basics of it.... and I need to have a sexy landing page that converts!


I made a post on elance.com

but dunno what to look for in a candidate!

Any help would be appreciated.

    I posted a project on one of the project boards recently that was a plugin for a piece of desktop software written in the Java programming language.

    One of the project bidders replied with "I can definitely do it" and attached screenshots of a bathroom furniture website.

    It made me laugh because it was soooooooooo far away from what I was asking for that its unbelievable.

    The point is, if you don't know what you want, its going to be very hard to select someone to do it for you and even harder to manage quality control of the finished product.

    Perhaps find a website that you like the structure of and contact them to ask who they used to build it. (sometimes these sites have a link to the builders in the footers.)

    Hi Ussher!

    Great anecdote!

    I DO know what I want. I am just not sure what to look for in a coder. If I could see someone that had experience in IM (then I would know they understand the importance of branding and a good landing page).

    But as far as coding is concerned I have no idea what too look for (that is why I posted in the coding section - so that I might get some idea and tips).

    I dont know if I should be looking for someone that has skills in Java or php or what ever else!

    heres is the impression of the person you are looking for from reading the project description:

    "I want a person who is proficient in graphic design. The must also be able to turn their design into working html and css. They must understand the wordpress theming system and integrate their design with this system.

    On top of this they must be able to recommend existing plugins for the wordpress system, so i guess the term 'Word press expert' would apply here.

    Another trait I require of them is to be able to code the backend system of wordpress. They must be capable of creating plugins.

    They will be required to install many plugins and get them all working in synchronization with each other.

    Once the plugins are installed they will be required to integrate this system with 3 different payment gateways in any way they choose.

    They are required to test all of the payment gateways with the purchasable products.

    I have added several tasks with question marks ? to make it ambiguous as to whether you will need to complete them or not. Since i require a fixed amount bid for the project, i guess you'd better ask me for clarification on this point if you want to know how much to bid.

    My thoughts are you are looking for a very specialized person. I couldn't see any specific reference in the specs that said "This person needs to be knowledgeable in Internet Marketing too."

    When I choose projects I select ones that are very clean in their outline.

    If you want to help get bidders try making a list of

    THE PROJECT WILL BE FINISHED WHEN:
    * there is a signup form
    * there is a ............

    So the programmer knows how to finish it.

    My guess is that you will need a company for this one. There seams to be a few different talents required
