DAP users question

I'm having a bit of a nightmare deciding on a platform for my membership site.

I know all the benefits of DAP, but as far as I know, but there were a couple of things putting me off that caused me to look towards s2member.

However, I'm struggling with s2member.

One particular issuing I'm facing is that I want to have my launch sequence run on a different installation of WordPress than the actual membership site, so that I can run OptimisePress for the launch, and another design for the membership area.

But, some of the membership software can't have the 'buy button' on a different installation, at least, not without some trickery.

Does anyone know if DAP allows this? Can I have a DAP buy button on a different WP installation than the membership installation?

  • When you say a DAP buy button what do you mean? DAP is not a sales platform, it only handles the membership part of the process.
  • Melanie,

    Yes. DAP allows this.

With DAP, you can have the buy button, and even the "Free Signup" forms on any web site, different from your main DAP web site.

Just remember, that regardless of where you have the buy button (or the free signup form), your members will eventually be added to your main DAP-powered site.

So regardless of where they buy or sign up from, they will have an account on your main DAP site, and that's where they will have to log in to consume the content that they've just purchased or signed-up for. So that's where you have to have all of your member's content.

So yes, your sales/sign-up pages can be on any domain, not a problem. No trickery required :-). Totally straight-forward.

    • Ravi,

That's an awesome answer. Exactly what I wanted to hear. I ended up going to your pre-sales board to ask 3 questions. This was one of them.

      The others were:

      2. I'm wanting to run BuddyPress and BBPress (not vbulletin). Does DAP naturally integrate into these platforms in WordPress?

      3. The theme I'm using on the main membership site has it's own styled login form. I understand I need to use DAP's login form, not a WP one. Is it easy to integrate DAP's form into the styling of the form in theme I have?

      Thank you.

  • Ravi's always on the case.

I prefer to annoy them via their support ticket system.. and annoy them I do

Ravi, any news on when the latest version will be considered a stable install?
