video wont show up on site page!

Hey I am hoping someone can help me. The other day I bought some software that converts videos into flv format and adds some skins to the video so it looks cool.

I have tried to get it to show up on the site but I cant figure out what I am doing wrong.

I took the code and embeded it into the source code area on kompozer.
This didnt work so I looked around the internet a little and found out (at least I think!) that I also have to upload the actual video to my public folder.
So I did that but it still doesnt show up.

All it shows on the page is an outline of where the video should be and a symbol of a page ripped in half in all the corners and different sections of what should be the player.
I have flash player downloaded so that is not the problem.

Does anyone here know what I am doing wrong?

Thanks for the help
Ps I dont know if this is the forum for this next question but I will aks here and if it should be elsewhere just tell me.

When I am writing in kompozer I space the lines and paragraps apart from each other but once the page is uploaded to my site it takes all the space away and everything is close together? Any suggestions?

Thanks again
Ashley

Found a couple of sites that may be of help:

How To Embed FLV Flash In WordPress or HTML

How to Embed FLV Flash Videos in your Blog ? - Digital Inspiration

Essentially you want to embed the FLV file within the HTML document, along with a link to a player. From what you describe it sounds like at lest one of those parameters is incorrect.

If you wanted to post a code snippet or a link to your site (although I believe you need a few more posts to do that) I can take a peek at it.

As for your second question a code snippet would again be helpful. Haven't really used Kompozer but I have used NVU which is the older version - at any rate I suspect that the answer may lie in the style sheet that Kompozer is building for your site (or it may simply be a missing <p> tag) . You should be able to preview it locally on a browser without uploading it to the server to see the effect.

There are a myriad of aspects to Internet Marketing, it's a job that should take a team of people yet most of us elect to go at it alone. Despite what the late-night infomercials would have you believe it isn't just pressing a button and watching your bank balance automatically grow.

The technical side of Internet Marketing is only one aspect of the business, and just because you are having difficulty with it in no way makes you "worthless". There are many exceptionally successful marketers who couldn't tell you the first thing about HTML - they probably learned a bare minimum when they were getting started and now they delegate that work to people who specialize in this sort of thing. Same thing goes with copy writing, site promotion and a host of other marketing tasks - if it's not their field of expertise they farm the work out.

You probably have a long list of talents that could make you into a top-notch Internet Marketer. And although I don't know you I'm sure that like most of us you also have many qualities that make you a fine person, certainly not someone who deserves to be called "worthless".

Hang in there. If you can't get it figured out post back here and I or another Warrior will be happy to assist. We are all here to make money, but we are also here to learn and help one another.

        Aloha

Most of the time this is caused by a bad file path coding, often this happens to newbie web designers. Make sure all the paths related to your files are correct.

If you're using Wordpress as your site framework you might want to use the following awesome plugin. You'll be posting videos to your site like a snap in no time.

Still a newbie web designer mistake, this is very likely due to incorrect HTML paragraph formatting.

I suggest you look for basic HTML training on google, you should find TONS of these very good and free.
