It's going to depend which technology you need to use.
It's also going to depend on what is your budget.

An experienced developper costs on average $500/day.
A good developper costs around $350/day.
If your budget is less than $350/day/developper, you won't get a really good one.

Can you explain your project? Just so we can understand what kind of technology you would need.

If you live in the United States near a major metropolitan area you can just google for web design / development firms in that area. Go meet with them face to face and pick one yourself.

If you're doing a big project though make sure you have well defined goals and are ready to pay at least $50-100/hour for well qualified help. The clearer you are with your project specifications the lower the amount of hours you will be billed for.

The time that I worked with a professional website creation company our baseline packages started around $10,000-$20,000 for custom, tailor made stuff. Keep that in mind when you go to look for developers, because extremely talented people's time is VALUABLE.

I'm not sure how big you're really looking to build, but I imagine the "top" companies don't accept budgets less than, say $100,000, maybe larger. This is because, top companies serve large industries populated by corporations that have budgets to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on software technology.

You're better off not looking for the "biggest", or "best" companies. Rather, you should find an agile team that has experience in, or specializes in, the industry you wish to develop for. Size of the company doesn't matter as much as their ability to manage the project. If they don't have all the resources on hand, companies can outsource some of the labor.

The companies that were listed may do some contracting work for preferred clients, but I've never heard of any of them doing dedicated web development for arbitrary customers. I'd be hugely surprised if any of them did.

What real course you actually do is determined by your stage of skills and encounter. There are ones, which have been created for those learners who are finish beginners and are only just looking to become a pc designer.

It actually depends on your job. And on your work. You can not hire the microsoft team if you want to design a simple site.
But for doing something exceptional you may get their help.

Why not you try a CMS such as Wordpress to do a site?

None of these replies even answer the OP's question.

"Computer programming" is not the same as "web development".

You need to contact a web developer. If you have a large, in depth project, your best bet is to contact a local development firm.

It really depends. The line between these two worlds has become increasingly blurry. I consider myself a software engineer, even though most of what I do goes onto the web. It isn't such a simple separation any more, because so much programming goes into the web these days.

If you are searching for create a web site than you have to go for the services which the companies are providing for your site and than you have to choose the one. I think you can go to Big time media at Bangalore which is a good company.

I recommend templatic dot com. I use the GeoPlaces Template for a Yelp dot com type social search site. These themes were created for development - this means that images, colors, fonts, layouts and anything else related to the design of the themes can be changed or modified. In addition, the copyright notice in the theme's footer can be edited or removed. Developers use these templates and tweek them for for uniique client work.

Here's how customizable this template is - Check it out

Do you have any language preference? If you are not sure about language then you've to describe about your site, what do you want to do with the site. If you can describe more then I think you'll get some really good suggestions from members.
