    • If you plan to build multiple sites and/or sales pages, definitely look at xsitepro. Easy to learn and small footprint - you can build a good site eaisly with it.

You can also get hosting (suggest using hostgator) and use fantastico in the cpanel of the hosting to quickly install your own wordpress blog.

  • For HTML & CSS I like this one W3Schools Online Web Tutorials
  • When you buy your domain name and hosting, look out for companies that have instant site builder, yahoo has it, 123 reg has it, what this means is that if you can use Microsoft word, you can build a webpage with them

  • You don't really need programming knowledge (or even much HTML knowledge) if you're using Dreamweaver. It pretty much does everything for you. It'll even write some of your PHP code and simple SQL queries for you.
  • Start with dreamweaver..... Search the net when you get stuck.....you'll start to learn html by trial and error....

    • So you want to create a website without knowing any programing languages, well without knowing HTML and / or CMS it going to be an uphill battle and while Dreamweaver's WYSIWYG design mode is good, you cannot create complex layouts without digging into the code (and driving yourself mental at the same time)

My suggestion, Register an account with someone like Hostgator, access the control panel (cpanel) and use Fantastico to install one of Many blog and CMS platforms like Wordpress, Drupal or Mambo.

Using the open source CMS and Blog platform along with their massive associated template / theme and module libraries, you can get a fully functional, highly interactive website created without writing a line of code.

      Cheers

  • It's kinda embarrassing - but i started building my first website in 2002 using microsoft frontpage.

I still use it till these days - although now most of the sites are using cms such as joomla and wordpress.

It would be helpful if you have programming background but then again - without it you still can build a site. I'm economist by training.
  • You can always use dreamweaver without learning programming.
  • Read "Headfirst HTML with CSS & XHTML"
    Try "90 Second Website Builder"

    • When I want to do something fast (inmediate, on demand, al dente) I use a tool that comes with my hosting account in hostmonster named Simple Scripts.

Basically it is Fantastico on steroids, lets me know when there's an upgrade and makes my upgrades for me with a single click, I can install Wordpress, Joomla, vTiger, Polls, Forms, etc.

So, it doesn't get any easier, in minutes your own good looking, dressed to kill website equipped with all the gadgets to survive in the internet jungle - And the best part is: without a single line of code.

Though I recommend learning what you have to learn this option will take you way far ahead and very close to what you want to achieve.

So if you take your time you can have all you need at the drop of a hat, good luck.
