Is Anyone Else Having This Wordpress Problem?

7 replies
Hi All,

When I try to edit my WordPress blog pages or posts I can get the code on each individual page to display when I select the "HTML" option, but it's blank (completely white) when I select the "Visual" option. The page IS there, it just isn't displaying visually.

I'd like to make some simple changes, like changing the color of internal links, etc and I know it can be done in html, but it's a LOT easier (for me) to just use the Tiny MCE plugin and use the Visual option.

I've never had this happen before. Is anyone else having this problem?

I'm using Version 3.4.1 of Wordpress. I'm also using the Socrates theme, version 2.3 if that matters.

Thanks in advance,

Joe

    Try to enable debug mode and look at the error messages it will display when you switch to HTML mode.
    Also it won't be bad if you re-upload all the WordPress files to your host to make sure there is no broken one.

      Thanks for your help. Honestly, I'm not super technical. Would you mind explaining how to enable debug mode? Also, what error messages should I be looking for?

        Add the following lines into your wp-confin.php:

        define('WP_DEBUG', true);
        define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', true);

        As about the error message. You should look for any. Also don't forget to re-upload your WordPress files.

    You have to edit the wp config file in order to make work in your way as you wanted it.
    If it does not work then you must have some problem in that section.

    Hi Joe,

    Not a definitive answer, but you can try this: Go to Users > Your Profile

    At the top of that screen there is a checkbox next to 'Visual Editor'.

    If this is checked, uncheck it and that will certainly solve your problem. If not, then you can try checking it, clicking 'Update Profile' then unchecking it and 'Update Profile' again.

    Firstly....

    Disable your current theme and try default wordpress theme.... If everything works fine... then it is the current theme that is causing problem...

    PM me with the result...

      Do you have text colors set to the same color that the background is in your visual editor? I've actually had white text turn invisible in the visual editor. (Of course the actual website had a background image and you could seethe text there)
