cPanel transfer without cPanel?

Hey guys, I need some serious help.
Trying to move host providers. I have wordpress with cPanel and have a full backup. Most VPS providers charge extra for cPanel. Is it possible to transfer my sites to VPS that doesn't have cPanel? I want to save costs where I can. Or if I get hosting without cPanel, can I transfer just my site somehow without cpanel?

Sure but takes more time and require some experience.

You have to check first what kind of "full backup" you have.
(eg. you are using some specialized WP backup plugin and/or you manually dumped the MySQL database AND made a backup on file system level etc.

I assume you have a PHP5 and MySQL ready to use on the new system.
On the new system you have to install WP (with cP this only a few clicks) - check WP manual installation instructions here: codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress

Restore you data from backup (certainly if you used some special plugin, you have install the plugin first..). Don't forget to secure the wordpress install before it goes live.
