Hi guys I'm having some problems moving my wordpress site. I've done it before (2-3 times) so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong this time.

So I sold my site and this guy gave me his log in details for whm .. I created a new cpanel for my site. I downloaded my database and files using filezilla.. I've uploaded my database and files to the new cpanel.. I changed the config file. I've changed the nameservers.
This is what's coming up for the homepage.

Apache Server at w*w*************n*t Port 80

I'm new to wordpress and sites in general.. where could I have gone wrong?
I have good feedback as a seller so far. I'd hate for this site to bring me down. I'm hoping to sell more sites and make a good side income from it but I need to be confident about transferring the sites!

Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!!!! Thank you in advance warriors!!!!

  • Do you need help from a specialist in WordPress Hosting Provider?
  • I'm not sure. I thought the mistake might be something fairly obvious to experienced web masters..
  • Things to look for
Make sure the config file points to and have the correct info
Sometimes the username has to be the same as the old username

If you need more help let us know can get it done quickly for you.

  • Irelandsgirl,

This seems to be an issue with the webhost. From the picture you uploaded, I can confirm that wordpress is already transferred to hosting account properly. It seems to me that the host is not running php properly. If you go to, domain.net/index.php, does it ask you to download the file index.php?
  • Two thing came up in my mind.....

    Somehow index.php file is missing
    Or
You need to upload a new .htaccess file.

    Hope this helps...
  • What happends if you type domain.com/index.php

If the site runs then try to add this to your .htaccess:
    DirectoryIndex index.php

    • I do'nt understand what you are telling.
  • Not sure if it will work for you. But I had that problem too. I had to re upload the index.php file to get it working.

I'll do some research for ya on google. If I come up with something, I'll post back here.

Hope your able to get it working.
