Amasite Video Problem

I am using the Amasite WP Theme for one of my sites and I am having a problem with the Walk-On-Video.

wpamasite.com

When you first hit the home page, the walk-on-video opens in the lower left corner as it is supposed to do. But if you leave the home page and then come back to it, the video plays again. Each time you come back to the home page, the video plays.

I would like to know how to set the video so that it only plays 1 time per unique visitor?

I have tried Amasite support, but so far no answer.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Dave

  • What you could do is set a cookie when someone visits your site and if the user is a returning visitor turn off auto play.
    I am not sure how customizable walk on video is. But if you want to reply with your site's URL, I will take a look.
    If walk on video isn't customizable at all, you could put the video in a div, and hide the entire div if the cookie is set. Something like this:

    <script type="text/javascript" >

    if (document.cookie.indexOf("visited") >= 0) {
    // They've been here before.
    //alert("hello again");
    document.getElementById("videowrapper").style.visi bility = "none";
    }
    else {
    // set a new cookie
    expiry = new Date();
    expiry.setTime(date.getTime()+(10*60*1000)); // Ten minutes

    // Date()'s toGMTSting() method will format the date correctly for a cookie
    document.cookie = "visited=yes; expires=" + expiry.toGMTString();
    //alert("this is your first time");
    }
    </script>

    <div id="videowrapper" >

    <!-- Put video in here -->

    </div>

    Play around with that, and let me know how it goes..
