Suitable Programmer Needed For Custom Coding

Hi Warriors,

I bought and installed an E-Commerce/Affiliate Program software (JEM - JROX E-Commerce Manager) but need to add additional functionality to it i.e. custom coding required.

I would have thought the best option for this is contracting the developer of the program to do this. Unfortunately, though a good program, support is very poor or even virtually non-existent. All buyers get to discover this later on (when you need support)

I am hesitant to contract just any other developer whose pedigree i do not know and who i do not know how accustomed he is likely to be to this particular program, to be able to effectively effect custom coding.

What advise do you have to offer me in getting this task done and specifically where to get a suitable programmer for this task : Warriors for hire? ODesk?

  • Dele, can you outline the core features you're looking to have added to the software packages you've purchased?

    Also are you sure that the software's source code is open and editable? Some companies/developers encrypt the source to prevent tampering/nulling etc.

      Yes, I am sure the software's source code is open and editable as it is installed on my web host server I bought a license to the script.With my limited programming knowledge, i have also personally made so many modifications to the existing theme and other contents. The developer perhaps for lack of time, also encourages customers' programmers to carry out modifications to suit each buyer's taste.

      The product/service is "recharge cards vouchers/PINs"

      I wish to have 2 features added.

      1. One of the two features i wish to add to the script, is "the automation of recharge card vouchers/PINs delivery to customers on payment".

      I will wish to have the vouchers automatically loaded to customers' phones and simultaneously displayed in the customers' account on my site.

      By the way, does this feature come along with integration with a payment gateway or a separate coding is required to achieve this objective?

      I will like the "source document" "housing" the vouchers, from which it will be dispatched to the phones of customers and simultaneously to the customers' account on my site, to be an Excel spreadsheet which i already have designed, to be integrated, so to say, with my E-Commerce/Affiliate Program script.

      2. The second feature i wish to add, is to allot a percentage commission to a direct buyer/customer/member. The existing script is already developed to allot commissions to the uplines/sponsors of each customer but not to the customer himself, which i now intend to add.

    if the software doesn't include the gateway module that you need then that has to be implemented separately because every payment gateway has different input and output parameters.
    Also if such module exists it may also require some tweaking

  • From the looks of it, you will need to consult a good web development company in your area. Almost all of the good developers are working for some company or the other and only a few freelance their projects. Odesk and freelancer have a lot of inexperienced programmers. But there are a few gems in a pile of rock. If youre willing to do trial and error, then go ahead hiring someone online.
