migration from html static to database php site

Hello,

I have a client who is trying to migrate his site from html static pages, a lot of them! to php database driven. Any advice on the pitfalls and best practices of doing that would be great. If you have a chance to take a look it is myceisonline.com

    What platform or framework will you be using? Are you moving the content to a CMS like Joomla? Or Wordpress? Or are you home-brewing it?

    Why do they want to switch? You could keep the html static pages and run php on them by changing the htaccess file.

    Hate to see people scrap whole sites when it's not needed. Not to mention, starting from scratch in the SE's.
