search finding words within words

Hi

my website search engine is showing results for words within words.. for example if a user searches for 'Car' they also get results for 'mascara'.

does anyone know if a simple msql setting or something will stop this and make results more specific?

  • it's not a database problem or setting.
    fix the search logic.

    • Hi. we recently moved to a new server and my old developer had to tweak the server to fix this. Tje new server presents the old problem. therefore I think it must be a server setting.
  • Can you be more specific about your site. Is this a wordpress website? Are you using a custom coded search solution or an existing one?
