Pictures Won't Display In Wordpress Posts

Tried everything that I could think of. Uploaded a pic the usual way (the same way I've done for over 50 other Wordpress sites). All that shows up is the title of the picture within the post. When I click on the title it goes to a dead end, that says wrong page or something like that.

Oh, I've tried using about 8 or 9 different themes, same thing for all.

Weirdest thing. Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you,

Tony Brayley.

  • I have used the Genesis Framework with the Streamline Child Theme. I don't think that really matters considering I've attempted this with 8 or 9 other themes that weren't made by Studiopress. However, it's probably wise to give the fullest picture possible if I'm trying to get some help.

This is a site I'm putting together for a buddy of mine in real estate.

    Here's the link:

Just remember, it's totally bare bones. I'm just starting to get things going now.

    Thanks for any help.

    Cheers,

  • Have you looked into the actual path of where the image is suposed to be on the FTP to make sure it was uploaded right ?

    wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Gaylord-Opryland-150x103.jpg

Does "uploads" have the right chmod 777 or in some cases 770 ?

    • I didn't check to see the path. I tried this with 3 different pictures and 8 or 9 different themes. Same result every time.

Don't know what else to do.

      Thanks for your input,

      Tony.
    • You never mentioned if u have checked these.

If the uploads folder is not properly set it will not work as expected.

  • Maybe try rebuilding your thumbnails. I've used this plugin and works fine: WordPress › AJAX Thumbnail Rebuild « WordPress Plugins

    • Hi Michael, what am I checking this for? That is, what am I looking for?

Not as techy as some here.

I had this problem once before on a different Wordpress install and a guy on Fiverr sorted it out for me, but he wouldn't tell me how he did it. Understandable, but now with each install I have to get help?

Something, somewhere has changed. I noticed that it was right after the latest Wordpress update, I started to experience this problem.
  • Well it would depend on how you installed or install your blogs.

If you use the autoinstall from cPanel I would think this would not happen however, if u do it manually it is prone to error depending on hosting and how you do it. As I dont know in details how you do it I can't really point straight that this could be the issue but would be one thing to check.

Back on the issue, It would be better if u can check it from the FTP because you can also see if the file have a SIZE 0 or bigger and folders chmod, if the size is 0 means it was created but the content was not received and if the file is not present then you must set the uploads chmod.
  • Check you PMs ..

    • Just wanted to let everyone know that the problem with the pictures has been solved.

It was a "permissions" issue and solved by
  • Which leads to what I early mentioned "folders, chmod"

Glad you got it sorted out.
