Is there any way ro load a WP blog on desktop computer without uploading it to a server?

I have some PLR blogs that I don't have screen shots for, so I don't know what they look like. I want to see them before I decide on whether or not I want to upload them. If I don't like the looks of them, I don't want to go to the trouble of buying a domain and installing them. So I would like to see what they look like before I upload them.

Is there a way I can do this?

  • Hi - You can install wamp and then just install WP into a folder inside your 'www' folder (of wamp).

WampServer, the web development platform on Windows - Apache, MySQL, PHP

    • So I installed that, but how do I run it? I cannot find any instructions. I can't find it on my start menu or system tray. I don't understand how to work it, are there any instructions any where?

Just like Steve said, use WampServer.

I'm running Wamp right now (offline server), for tweaking a Wordpress theme. Once you get Wamp + Wordpress installed on your PC it's pretty easy to work with.

Wordpress works the same offline as If you're running a live site/blog online, the only thing that really changes is the domain (ex: http://localhost/wordpress/), that's the URL for an offline Index page default Wamp + Wordpress install.

If you have any specific questions about he install, just ask.
