Seeking an app developer with experience in the Kindle publisher's API

I'm looking for someone who can develop a web-based app for us, that uses the Kindle Publisher's API. (Not the platform API, such as for developing apps for the Kindle device.) Anybody know a good connection?
Good karma your way!

To my knowledge, there's no API for Kindle publishing, unless you're looking to sell apps, which you've stated that you're not. What exactly are you trying to accomplish, if I may ask?

      Thanks for your response.
While I can't say in detail what the project entails, it involves both reader and publisher interaction with Amazon.com. If I could find someone who has experience creating something for the Amazon Kindle platform, that person might have the same knowledge I need now. I'm guessing that a couple of hours of consulting will tell me what I need to know before we go deeper on this project. Do you have a contact?

        You're welcome.

If you're looking for an API that will allow you to publish books to the Kindle Store directly from your computer or a third-party site such as your own, then you won't find it because it doesn't exist. I looked into it myself awhile ago, and here's what I did find:

Why Amazon Needs a Kindle API-and Will Never Have One

Amazon has several APIs spanning a wide variety of web services. Having experience with one API doesn't mean that the programmer will know anything about any of the other APIs because they don't all work the same way.

I don't have a contact, but I also don't think that you're going to find one who can do what you want to do because there's no Kindle API, except for building apps.

I hope I haven't discouraged you too much.

          Thanks again Mr. Steele,
I fear that you're right. I'm involved with two projects right now that will rely on an API like you're suggesting, but also one that's not a publisher's API. I guess I need to go back and report to my teams.
Really appreciate your feedback. You have been extremely helpful and objective. Good karma your way.
