SaaS Development Help - Real Estate

I have a popular membership website for real estate investors and one of the things they say they want is an area in my site (Wordpress) where they can plug in numbers from potential deals and calculate potential return, etc.

I've never had a software created before.

There are several Windows based programs that do this (not owned by me). Is it cool or not cool to hand a developer a software program that I only have a license to and say recreate this in a web based app?

  • Why do you need a windows program specifically?

    You can probably get the features you need custom built into a wordpress plug-in for a couple of hundred bucks.

    • I'm not looking for a Windows program - I'd like to have a web app created. I was just saying that there are several Windos based programs that do what I want my app to do and is it cool to just hand that to a developer to have him or her create my web app.
  • If you can provide the math to do the calculations this is a very simple job..
    If you don't that it is still possible just takes more time to create it (thus more expensive)..

    If you want the tool to have some nice design you should also get a designer (cheap for a small thing like this).

    Also I don't see what your question has to do with SaaS (software as a service).. this is just a widget nothing more as I can asses based on your description.

  • It looks like what you are looking for is to add a new feature into your web-based app, and the feature would be similar to some windows based apps have. Thats perfectly fine.
    Just find a wordpress plugin developer and explain to him/her the feature.
