WP Permalink Image displays instead of Page

I have a post that I wrote prana-revolution-natural-sticky-mat

prAna Revolution Natural Sticky Mat - EndTheTrendNowEndTheTrendNow

What seems to be happening is an media image with the same name prana-revolution-natural-sticky-mat is showing up instead of the page. Seems to have occurred either after I moved the site to a new server or after I updated to WP 3.5

Anyone experience this and how do you go about changing it. I thought pages and post had precedence over images if their names were the same.

my perma links is set to http://endthetrendnow.com/sample-post/

  • Well I figured out how to fix the problem.

You have to go into media, search for the image and then attach it to a post. That way they can have the same name and it doesn't load the image first.

What bothers me is that WP images weren't attached for whatever reason when I did a WP export and then did a WP Import. I have something like 400+ images now that aren't attached. Not sure which posts are ok and which posts an image will load instead. Real pain.
  • Works fine for me. You may want to flush your browser cache, restart your browser, then try to load the page again.
  • You should NEVER see just an image, unless you've clicked on a linked image from a post or page. Whether or not an image is 'attached' to a post in the Media Library makes absolutely no difference.

Images don't use the permalink system - in order to see just an image, you must use the correct URL - something like domain.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/imagename.jpg
