Adding Listings to a directory

So I have purchased a copy of SocialEngine to move users from a custom forum site. I need to move the old users into the new Forum. Because of so many related tables and it's users password system I am unable to do this form the backend SQL.

Any ideas? I am guessing I should write a script to auto add the users. What language should I use? Can someome refer me to article on a concept similar to this?
