What shopping cart is this site using?

Have a client that is looking for a robust shopping cart like the one on this site:

Trixie, Dry Flies, Terrestrials, Order Discount Flies Online, The Fly Stop, Trout & Steelhead Flies, Cheap Flies, Quality Fishing Equipment

It's very clean and modern looking with a nice cart system. Categories, product pages, different order options with quantity and size options...

Is there a way to tell which site they are using? Could this be done in wordpress somehow?

  • My thoughts are that it is a custom made eCommerce solution written in ColdFusion and hosted on a Windows server.

The guys that made the site offer two ecommerce options according to this link. They are off the shelf ShopSite and custom written. ShopSite can be eliminated because it is not coldfusion based.

According to their homepage, they do a lot of work with ColdFusion and can convert existing PHP, WordPress, ASP, and .NET web applications to ColdFusion and vice versa. So you could direct your WordPress question to those guys and see what they would do or how they could help.

I'm currently putting the finishing touches to a Wordpress eCommerce site that uses WooCommerce. It uses a proper template, functions very well and is easy to work with and customise. Unless I am missing something I see no reason why WooCommerce shouldn't be considered for a starting point at least.

    • Does WooCommerce have the option for categories, pictures, and different add to cart options such as size?
  • Yes. You can have a look at some demo sites to get a feel for what is possible.

WooThemes offers top notch themes for WooCommerce sites and there are plenty of demos over there. Obviously all look and feel can be changed.

Take a look at this demo store built using their 'Sentient' theme. I've linked to the tshirts category page and if you click on a product you can see how they handle different options before adding to cart.

    • With woocommerce do I have to go with one of their themes? If my client wants a custom site is there a way to make a custom wordpress site and then integrate woocommerce easily? Or do I have to choose one of the woocommerce themes? If going with a woocommerce theme is it easy to change the look and layout of the site?
  • If you scrolling down on the page, you'll found link "Design and Programming by Strategic Solutions"

Based on my analize, they are using : ShopSite Ecommerce Hosting, ShopSite E Commerce Hosting, ShopSite Ecommerce Web Hosting, and ShopSite Ecommerce Hosting Site by Strategic Solutions
