Ye I found that one too but first I dont know what is post fix and my main intention is installing it alone on centos 5.5.
I mean why should I install it with post fix?

Question 1. Usually on Centos goes with installed WHM panel. Recent WHM panels have installed DKIM and offer DKIM activation when you setup a new domain with them. Don't you have WHM/Cpanel?

Open DKIM is not a problem to install, configuration and making it sign all your outgoing email is a problem. This requires a lot of testing and adjusting job.

Btw what do you need DKIM for? Checking incoming or signing outgoing mailing?

Another Idea: I have tested my servers mailing speed (a few years ago). Exim mailer sends about 1-2 emails/second, while postfix sends about 5-8. So just think why you would need postfix.

Open DKIM is just another program, but it implements DKIM standards.
E.g. Open DKIM = DKIM
You better think of installing Domain Keys besides of Open DKIM, as yahoo requires Domain Keys, while Google requires DKIM.

Im managing a server with centos 5.5,my intention is to sign outgoing mail if you can please help me how to use wget to install dkim on centos 5.5 and please explain to me how to learn how to install the domain keys for yahoo,arent they given by dkim and installed on the txt records?

If you are managing a server you should even know how to use wget or install something... it takes a lot of time to install and adjust.

So do you expect us "teaching" you for free and spending lots of time for "zilch"?

Tons of tutorials out there in the net... if you have no clue how to use wget you better don't touch anything on your $.01-OS and pay someone to do it...

I never said I had no clue how to use wget you are just a ridicoulus person that thinks youre a great big deal,I manage a server very well so in order to manage a server well imagine what I can or cant do,I simply have strong and weaker points like every programmer does that is ignorant about any other thing like dkim .I just need an insight notions to dkim and testing it dont scare me since Im a programmer with more capacities than you michaEL71 so I dont like ur attitude and I would crack ur head in pieces if I had you in front of me. Well to viescripts I have kloxo on my centos,yeah I was thinking there might be a faster proccedure to do it thru kloxo too isnt it,please viescripts just give me hints in whatever you can on dkim or open dkim it will be appreciated thank you

First of all I would look if opendkim is in repository:
yum list opendkim

(there also existed dk-milter, don't try to install that one, it's old and not supported).

In my centos I get the following output:
Available Packages
opendkim.i386 2.7.4-1.el5 epel

Hope your linux version includes this package in its repository and no need to use wget.

Then check what is your MTA (mailing program), hope you use sendmail if not postfix. In case there is exim installed, let's try find a configuration for exim.

Next, try to follow this manual.

In short you need to:
1. install dkim milter

2. generate signing keys
I personally use a single key for the entire server, say "default" or server name.

3. configure it
opendkim.conf, modify the following lines (different from example above)
Mode s #here use only s, for signing and not for verification

Umask 002 #this param is very important and may be different, let's try 002 and change it later if doesn't work

Domain example.com #just comment this out

4. Create all tables as per description. Manual describes it very fine. Make sure you use correct key names, generated above.

5. Add a few lines to your MTA.

6. Restart dkim and MTA.

7. Test and troubleshoot - this part usually takes most time as dkim on my experience does not start at once.
If you find errors in your messages file, throw them here.

8. Add dkim keys to your DNS records

9. test live - when we get here, I can give you a few resources for tests. Best result is when google says: signed by: your domain here

I use roundcube,is it what you mean?

You know I was dogging around that Steve Jenkins a while ago and thaught it had very good amazing things like setting dkim work for more than one domain,yes what a good idea when you have in a server many domains and you dont want to be tracked by having the same dkim settings for all domains,also in other tutorial he said you needed postfix before but I thaught post fix wasnt required but in some cases.

Now I have got dkim.tgz on my temp folder but couldnt use the tar thing
usually I DO

why are you trying to copy dkim by wget and not look for it into your repository? Is it missing there? installing by wget is usually much more complex than just repository install that does all the job for you.

Also, there exist some services where you can rent a VPS server hourly (cheapest server is around 10 USD per month). Look for such a service, rent a server and play with DKIM installations
I could through you some manuals how to install and ocnfigure postfix+DKIM. You may learn how to do this installation on a third party server then easily do it on yours.

I manage dedicated servers and vps man so its out of the question Ive don it 4 years zo,the only thing is I never used the mail,I used my servers for other programming matters,really dont get you ,look viescripts really I always knew that installing dkim would take a little bit to do well but for me nothing is unachievable or impossible since on programming theres always more than 1 way to do things and believe me I always get my way.

I will delay in getting back in case you want to keep suitin me with dkim for certain work matters thank you for writing viescrpts cei la vie

Hi viescripts in case you read this,my vps server went nuts I dont think it was from just downloading dkim.tgz on my temp folder since I didnt install it so there wasnt a reason for ip tables to shut me up so it was my host with some bad managing of the node so I decided to move to a dedicated server and guess what I dont need dkim anymore,do you think that it was because I took the time to write to hotmail etc to remove me from their ban list?

do you mean hosters closed your server? Any reason, why they closed it?
or it just crashed and you cannot bring it up and working?

How did you write to remove you from ban lists? Did you fill in FBL forms?
About FBL

I don't know what service you run so cannot suggest anything about vps or dedicated server.

They had trouble in managing their node thats why I moved successfully to a dedicated server where Im doing very fine at the moment,yes I filled tons of forms to all the popular mail free providers so they would not return my mail,what is fbl?

After you fill in FBL forms (Feedback Loop - for each email provider filled in separately, e.g. for yahoo, hotmail, aol etc etc), you start receiving users spam complaints. e.g. when someone clicks in yahoo spam button on your email, you instantly get a notification about it.
FBL is very useful thing when you mass mailing.

Don't worry about DKIM, if your list is small, you don't need to worry about it or even better to pay for a online autoresponder service.

dont work in the means of mail servers accepting your stuuf unlike server.mydomain.com?

you send a mass email from your server. One of your subscribers hit SPAM button in their mailbox. You instantly get a notification about it from:
Yahoo! Mail AntiSpam Feedback
or from
scomp.at.aol.net

about the following stuff:

rdns is just to confirm your dns is used for mailing purposes.
You cannot manage rdns, only your hosters can do it, so they are responsible for the stuff you send.
