Please Help Wordpress URL is Still Showing Parked Domain Page

Hi

I am not sure if anyone else has had this problem and knows how to resolve it, I am building a site for a client and when I go to login to the wordpress install I get the domain parked page. When the client tries he gets the wordpress install, no parked page. The nameservers were updated 4 days ago.

I don't think it is a browser cache problem because I have cleared the cache, cleared cookies etc, I even tried different browsers, one of them I just installed to try to see if this would resolve it.

It isn't an ISP issue as I get the parked page when I try and load the site from an IPhone on it's own connection seperate from my internet connection.

I am lost as to why my client can see the site but I get a parked page.

I don't have this problem with any other site.

If anyone can help then it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Stefan

    Hey,
Provide the link if you dont mind. Also, where did you purchase the domain? DNS should not take 4 days to propagate.

      Hi

I can't give the URL because it is a clients site and I can't reveal the niche

Domain is registered with namecheap, I have never seen this before and have been building sites for years, the funny thing is he can see the site and I get the parked page.

It's probably a problem with your ISP's nameservers.

Try switching to Google's public nameservers.

        https://developers.google.com/speed/...dns/docs/using

Namecheap will usually take longer than a real ICANN registrar, they have to communicate anything to ENOM before changes start to propagate.

          Hi

I tried switching to Google's nameservers following the info from the link but when I re-connect it just resets to automatically selct DNS and removes the DNS that I added.

          Thanks

          Update:

I am using a mobile connection 3G and just found out I can't use the Google DNS with a mobile connection.

Is it possible that you have picked up one of those nasty DNS changer viruses?
If something is changing the dns servers you select, that is one possible cause.

              Hi

It's only happening with this one site, I can't understand it because the client can see the site and all I get is the namecheap parked page as if the nameservers haven't updated.

              Thanks

Then you need to contact namecheap support and your ISP, not ask a question here.

There are a lot of people here knowledgeable enough to follow a DNS trail and tell you where the problem may be coming from, but there is nothing anyone can tell you without knowing the domain.

All anyone can do (and are doing) is speculate and guess.

All web servers follow a prescribed hierarchy to tell them what the default web page is. If a page called default.htm, or default.html, or index.htm or index.html exists in your server root, that is the page that will be loaded- not index.php which is the home page of your Wordpress site. Your parking page is ALSO in the server root along with the Wordpress home page. Delete it and all will be good.

It is showing the name registrar park page not the hosting park page but it is only showing for me, the client can see the wordpress home page.

This is a problem with NameCheap, ask their support... thats why their support exists.

Without any URL from your clients site we can do... NOTHING.

    Hi,

You may try to open it from a proxy server like PageWash (recommended by Hostgator support)

    http://www.pagewash.com/

See if you can see WP install here or still a parked page...

    1. If you see WP install then it is problem with your ISP
    2. If you see parked page, then contact Namecheap

Also as mentioned by Steve to know exact issue we need to know DNS trail, as we do not have domain name, we cannot do anything... but you may check yourself..by going to this address, and put your domain in it and see for any potential issues:

intoDNS: checks DNS and mail servers health

    Hope this help,
    Mohsin

    Try accessing via a proxy.

That can confirm that your 3G connection is all messed up and call the ISP support or change to a decent ISP.

    Or go to Starbucks

Thanks everyone for all the help

I can see the site through a proxy so it must be an issue with my ISP but the weird thing is I have just had another client setup a new site same name registrar (namecheap) and was able to access that within minutes of the nameserver update.

      Thanks again

        Hi Stefan,

        Thanks for update.

Yeah it is your ISP caching the stuff.

Yes you can see new sites because on your ISP this new site was never accessed and when you accessed it first time, it brought the new fresh copy of latest site.

Have you tried to contact your ISP , what they did the say?
