That can most definitely be done without scripting, BUT if you want the best cross-browser solution, then you will need to use some Javascript. If you don't care about older browsers (IE 6/7 etc), then you can do it with pure HTML/CSS.

You can absolutely do this on HTML. Actually I prefer HTML over using wordpress or other platforms. For this you just need a background image. And a transparent image with low opacity for the border of the optin form. And also for the button just google for images and download it or link it to your favorite email service. I use aweber and you can easily do it. I mostly use Bluevoda to build landing pages as it is a WYSIWYG or drag n drop editor. I easily make them in 10-15 minutes just dragging them and dropping them and uploading them to my website. But if you have a big image as your background you might wanna compress the background image or convert it to a lower size image to increase your loading speed. Do you plan on promoting it on PPV?

As the guys have answered above, it can be done with HTML.


Anyway your question might be regarding how to setup the automatic email sending, etc.
This is done with autoresponder such as aWeber. Google it

I've seen alot of those ever since Frank Kern mentioned that he was getting insane conversions w/ that style. That is what lead rocket was based on. The thing is, those are really pretty but I don't know that they give the best conversion reates. The one you linked to is a particularly good example though.

I'd be interested to test it against a more traditional squeeze page and see how it works out.

Anyway, I looked at the source and it looks like that page was built with: WP Epic Squeeze which is sold as a WSO here on the warrior forum. Of course you could do it w/ HTML as well, really they are just doing a full page background like in this tutorial: Perfect Full Page Background Image | CSS-Tricks.

Then you would just build a form in Aweber w/ no background color and your own custom button.
