301 Redirection Suggestion

Hello,

I have seven domain names on 301 redirect to my main website. I want advice as to whether these 301 redirects should be removed? Are they adding value or hurting? Keyword are FFL, FFL License, Federal Firearms License, FFL application, Class 3 License (main site ffl123.com)

The simple question, if you owned my domain name would you keep or remove the 301 redirects?

Additional question - would there be value in doing a 301 redirect to my main domain from these 5 live websites I own...

  • Depends. if those sites have content and had moved that content to your main site. Then I'd add 301 redirect to the exact location to the new page.
    if the sites don't have content or rank at all... it won't matter.
  • The better approach would be to rank those sites, and link to your main site.
  • If those sites of yours have great content and high ranking on Google, I would suggest linking it back to your main site. It would be good on your main site.
  • Rank rank rank rank.
    Then link to the mothership.
  • If you have content on those sites that you want people to see you should not do a 301 redirect. It means that whoever visits these sites will be redirected without seeing the contents of the url that they originally entered.

    I agree with the suggestions from other members to link to your main site instead of redirect.
