Have an idea, but need a programmer.

An idea just pop into my head and I think it is really feasible and simple to do, but I don't have any programming skills. Any idea how can make this idea goes to execution phase?

I could possibly hire a programmer online, but not sure if this is a good idea. I heard a lot of bad things of partnering, etc...My contribution includes majority of the cost, marketing, etc...The programmer role is only coding.

Thanks.

  • Come up with what you want in a detailed diagram... even a mindmap. You don't need to be a programmer to do this.

Also it'd really be best if you could at least learn Pseudo-code. This isn't really programming... its just learning the setup of if/then/else/for/while functions. If you understand how to figure out what you want doing this, then converting it to PHP/CGI/C++ is the easy part as that's just syntax. Eg. If a customer comes to page "A" then clicks link "B" what do you intend to happen? What if the customer clicks "C" instead? Etc.

    • Pseudo-code is a draft for the program to work.Good idea.

  • You can try and hire a freelancer on oDesk, Elance, Freelancer. Every profile have reviews, so you can pick one you like.

    • This is pretty much the only course of action. Try to go with someone who has the most feedback and get an estimation of the length of time for completion.

Sometimes when dealing with programmers from another country, it can literally be pot luck. But hopefully you'll find a good one who can develop code to timescales and for a good price.

      Good luck
