Easiest CMS to use for HTML/CSS design?

Hi,

I wonder if there is any CMS that I can use for my HTML/CSS webpage design. I have designed 5 webpages for a website, now just need a back-end CMS so that I can simply edit or modify the contents from that CMS, and maybe also use a membership system (just for login and register)?

I understand that it needs to be converted to be compatible with the CMS, just need a really simple and easy-to-use CMS for this.

Thanks!

  • There are many CMS that you could use but generally WordPress and Joomla are the most popular. I would stick to one of these - I personally prefer WordPress. In terms of converting your site into a theme for either of these without any experience in the CMS, it could take a while. Each CMS has a large learning curve when it comes to development. In fact, it's hard enough to learn how to use the CMS with existing themes. However, there are thousands of themes already out there. Not only that, you can use plugins to do specific tasks - such as allowing users to register. Just have a look around the web for WordPress or Joomla themes, most come with great customization features so you should be able to create a pretty similar website, if not better.

You can download a separate admin panel and hook your site up to that, but there's no point creating your own system of editing your site when amazing things such as WordPress already exist.

Alternatively, you can hire a professional to convert your site for you but I would recommend using an existing theme for now until you learn the ins and outs of the CMS.

    Good Luck
  • Wordpress?

    • I think you're barking mad throwing accusations around like that. Anything is easily exploitable in the wrong hands. It's knowing how to use your tools in your toolbox.
  • Wordpress is great.. but you may also want to try Bootstrap. Bootstrap pages load superfast.

Find Cms using template engines ( smarty, x-template) or you can try worpdress. It's easy CMS to appy html/css web design.

  • Purely for ease of use, I suggest Wordpress. There are a ton of other options, such as Joomla, or the rarely mentioned Drupal.
In my experience, the easier the use, the less you can do with it behind the scenes. So for most people, WP is more than fine, and you will find that it will almost certainly fit what you need it for

  • Wordpress would have to be the easiest CMS to work with.

  • I don't like any CMS. I always like build my site by manually coding of HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript.
  • Ideally... Use WordPress with a theme based on Twitter Bootstrap.
  • It would be easy to include your 5 webpage site using custom page templates into WordPress.
  • Wordpress and Joomla, both are good CMS and easiest. I used wordpress so many times and have good experience with it.
  • I am quite experienced with joomla and for me its joomla all the way, its easy to customize and easy to make web using it. It depends on your experience and requirement what you want to do with cms.
  • Simple CMS is "CUSHYCMS"

Just use already made some classes and done .

    • It depends on what you want to do. If all you need to do is publish the handful of pages you designed, just use an ftp tool.

If you really need a cms, then wordpress is the most popular. Just keep in mind its built for running blogs. Sure, you can build your entire site around it, but you will have to integrate your pages with the wordpress structure which means you need to learn how to create a wordpress theme (or child theme). And editing html within wordpress is not ideal imo.
  • Personally, I suggest you to go for wordpress. Its the CMS, in which you can make your website customizable and you can use html/css according the require design.
  • Dear use wordpress platform because its advance and aloot of plugins are available....
  • Drupal CMS with the zen theme seems like a popular choice and well deserved, too. It gives you a good starting point, it has great documentation and many modules available. You can even use wordpress for it.
