In Wordpress 3.7 they have built inn automatic updating of the core files. I just got a email from each installation that it had updated itself to 3.7.1 and that is great.

Also keep in mind that the automatic updates (at least for now) only run for minor releases, not major. Major would be from 3.7.x to 3.8. Minor would be from 3.7.1 to 3.7.2.

    Plugins break too easily.
    I'll keep it disabled.

I'm thinking that what breaks plugins are major updates, where significant changes leave old plugins behind, generally plugins that have not been kept up to date and have with depreciated code.

That is probably why WordPress avoided building in the automatic upgrade for major revisions.

It happens for minor ones, too.
Not as much, but it still happens quite a bit.

I've used WP since 2007. Seen it many times.
