Serve images from subdomain

Hi,

How serve images from subdomain? I found on google so many steps how to do it but none of these don't work for me. Looks like they just rewrote these articles from one source and have not tested themselves!

First step how I understand is to create a subdomain. My domain is kilobait.com so subdomain I create like this one images.kilobait.com. Document Root I choose: public_html/images. Other sources says that Directory Root should be: public_html/wp-content/uploads or public_html/ and so on.
So, what I have to write in Directory Root?

I change settings in Media with new URL path to files. But when I try to add a new image to media this image do not saves to subdomain but somewhere to the main domain.

Would be great that somebody will explain for me how everything to configure and of course give steps for me if this thing is working for you not just put links to other sources:-)

Thanks

If you are using WordPress, the best thing is to use the defaults set up by WordPress and forget about using a subdomain for images. You may have read something written completely wrong-headed or misunderstood something.

I agree with this. It's difficult to say how to do it without knowing your existing setup (hosting CP, etc).

I use HostGator shared hosting. I have read posts written for WordPress sites. If you will google about this you will find info but this info not the same. Bad thing is that when I make these settings my images are saved not to subdomain and all new images and old images appears not working.
