Upload Media option won't work in posts or pages

HI,
I don't know when exactly this started so that I could troubleshoot it, but in the middle of working on my new site I suddenly found I couldn't upload any new media.. also the add hyperlink option doesn't work either. From what I have figured out from Wordpress.org support it seems to be some kind of Javascript issue but I don't understand how to fix it.

The site is http://bookbizplr.com

any ideas what I need to do?

Thanks
Dave

    Hi,

You mean uploading media from admin, right? yes it can possibly be a JS conflict and you need to let someone look inside the admin area.

Also you can use Firefox Firebug addon, enable firebug and go to media upload page and try to upload, at the same time see if firebug console shows you any error, that way you can get closer to the problem.

when wonky things start happening with your WordPress admin it is almost always a plugin issue - and you test it by going to the plugin area and deactivating all plugins - Once you deactivate all plugins check to see if your media uploader and everything else that wasn't working is now working - if everything is working again then you know it's an incompatible plugin that you need to get rid of. You will then have to activate the plugins one by one and keep testing until you figure out which plugin is the culprit.

      good luck

It seems to be an issue with Woo Canvas

Only thing is - I don't understand exactly where I am supposed to take these actions - is the first part to be added in my post.php and if so what do I do with the 2nd bit?

Going to install Firefox and try shahriyar's suggestion now..
That's nothing to do with you - that's about embedding javascript and the <canvas> HTML5 tag in posts.

Debugging with Firebug isn't for the beginner. The answer, though, is that you open the scripts tab and reload the page. Then you start doing the things that won't work, checking the error messages in the console.

Probably the best thing to do is visit the Canvas site and see if anyone else is having the same issues.

Well, its difficult to use firebug without enough experience but click the firebug icon to popup the console at the bottom and in the same tab go to admin and try to upload.

The console should have some errors in red and it should also tell you in which file it is occurring. And then looking at the file path of that file you can detect which plugin or library is causing it. If the console does not show any message in red, then Firebug couldn't help in this case.

what Steve said is what you should do - get in touch with the folks at Woothemes and see if they can offer some suggestions.

I just had another thought - have you tried using another browser? The reason I ask is sometimes the scripts used in the design could behave differently in another browser - in which case your feedback could be quite valuable for the Woothemes developers as they would want their themes to be cross-browser compatible.
